It was belatedly known that Lee Seung-gi converted to Buddhism because of Lee Da-in. Lee Da-in, her older sister Lee Yu-bi, and her mother Kyun Mi-ri are Buddhists.
Lee Seung-gi widely announced that he became a devout Christian as photos of him being baptized while serving in the military spread, but he converted to Buddhism in the wake of his meeting with Lee Da-in. This has been announced through interviews.
He met with the general secretary of the Jogye Order and had an interview ahead of the filming of the movie "Big Family." Here, he was also named "Dowon" by Monk Joo-seok.
